Build Crew Code of Conduct

Keep it Civil

Build Crew members receive access to a private Twitter direct message group. The message group, and other forums related to Build Crew, are shared community resources. The expectation is that all messages sent will be respectful and considerate to other members and to the community at large.

Whether any specific action by a member violates this requirement is in Sourcegraph’s sole discretion. That said, things like hate speech or illegal content are automatic violations.

Be Agreeable, Even When You Disagree

You disagree with other Build Crew members Remember to criticize ideas, not people. You may not:

  • Name-call
  • Engage in ad hominem attacks
  • Dox, harass, or otherwise harm any other member of Build Crew

Instead, provide thoughtful insights that improve the conversation. Avoid responding to a post’s tone rather than its content, and take a moment before posting a knee-jerk reaction.

Your Participation Counts

The conversations we have in Build Crew set the tone for every new arrival. Help us influence the future of this community by engaging in discussions that make Build Crew an interesting place to be – and avoiding those that do not.

If You See a Problem, Flag It

In order to keep Build Crew productive, moderators may remove any content and or account for any reason at any time. Please flag violating behavior for moderators if and when you see it. Moderators do not preview new messages; the moderators and Build Crew operators take no responsibility for any content posted by the community.

Post Only Your Own Stuff

You may not post anything that belongs to someone else without permission including things that belong to your employer. You may not post descriptions of, links to, or methods for stealing someone’s intellectual property (software, video, audio, images), or for breaking any other law.
